Boccia is a target ball sport which tests both muscle control and accuracy. From a seated position, players propel balls to land as close as possible to a white marker ball, known as the Jack.
Balls can be rolled down a ramp, thrown or kicked. If a player is unable to release the ball with their hands, they can use assistive devices, such as a head pointer.
We also have a fully equipped disability changing facility here which offers the customer a more comfortable place to change, as well as meeting the ‘Changing Places’ standards. The equipment includes a height adjustable adult sized changing bench and an electronic tracking hoist system.
The area also includes a ‘non slip’ floor and wet room shower.
Carers accompanying a user with a disability are entitled to FREE entrance into the facilities.
